While it’s still relatively early to pull the plug on any starting quarterback in the 2022 NFL season, several teams have already done so. Who’s next?

Tom Brady said it best, this season hasn’t brought with it inspired quarterback play.

Brady himself lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday afternoon, looking like a shell of himself in the process against what many considered a beleaguered secondary. Yet, he is nowhere near this list, if only because Brady is the GOAT.

Neither is Aaron Rodgers, who fell to the surprising New York Jets at Lambeau Field this week. Rodgers’ offense leaves much to be desired, but he’s still that BAD man, regardless of what even some Packers fans are suggesting these days.

However, we can’t all be so lucky. These three signal-callers could ride the pine sooner than expected.

NFL rumors: Could Washington Commanders bench Carson Wentz?

It’s surprising we’ve reached this point in the year and Wentz remains the starter in Washington, to be frank. He’s been that bad.

The Carson Wentz experience is like a rollercoaster, but you’re not allowed to get off and have no idea what twists and turns are coming. Commanders fans know this all too well.

Wentz is talented enough to show flashes, but there are several throws every game which make fans scratch their heads. Ron Rivera, as recently as last week, did not see reason to bench Wentz, unfortunately.

“Everybody wants to keep saying I didn’t want to do anything with Carson, well bull—-,” Rivera said Thursday night at his postgame news conference. “I’m the f—— guy that pulled out the sheets of paper, that looked at the analytics, that watched the tape, and the freaking when we were in Indianapolis. OK. And that’s what pisses me off, because the young man doesn’t deserve to have that all the time. I’m sorry, I’m done.”

Reeks of confidence, doesn’t it?

Rivera’s job may very well be tied to Wentz’s, as the Commanders could make a move any week now. Washington doesn’t have much insurance behind Wentz, but could Taylor Heinicke be that much worse?
