Depressing Aaron Rodgers stat proves his best days are behind him

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has unfortunately been below his best this season, and he seems to be past his prime.

Beloved Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was once one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Just last year, he won his second straight NFL MVP.

But he’s, unfortunately, being outperformed by the younger star quarterbacks now, such as Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen. And frankly, it’s not even close.

Rodgers had good seasons over the past two seasons, averaging a completion percentage of 69.8 over 8,414 yards with an average of eight yards per pass and 85 touchdowns. Mahomes had a slightly lower completion percentage and roughly 1,000 more yards. Allen had roughly the same completion percentage as Mahomes and roughly the same yards as Rodgers.

He continues to hold a great completion percentage and amount of touchdowns, but his passing yards have been on a steady decline over the past few years.

This season, Rodgers hasn’t recorded a single game with 300 yards. Players tend to lose skill as they age, and that unfortunately seems to be happening to Rodgers as he’s played in the NFL since 2005, only with the Packers.

Rodgers’ time with the Packers may be coming to an end soon, and though it’s bittersweet, it’s necessary for the development of the team.

The Packers should start considering quarterback options

Though they certainly aren’t the worst team in the league, they’ve lost a lot of steam over the years and have a lot of room for improvement. Rodgers has been reliable for many years, but he’s losing steam as well and adding a new quarterback would certainly help move Green Bay in the right direction.

Rodgers isn’t a bad player and is still making an impact, but he’s showing many signs of slowing down and it’s best to be proactive and prepare a backup to step up or sign someone who could replace him when the time comes.

Unfortunately, Rodgers just isn’t pulling the same results as the younger stars anymore, but his impact on the Packers franchise will always be noticeable.
