Rival fans troll the Vikings for complete flop against Cowboys

The Minnesota Vikings were trolled mercilessly by rival fanbases after getting crushed 40-3 by the Dallas Cowboys.

The Minnesota Vikings were tied with the Philadelphia Eagles for having the best record in the entire NFL at 8-1. They had the chance to keep track of the Eagles, who won 17-16 earlier in the day against the Indianapolis Colts. But, they had a tough test facing the Dallas Cowboys, who were coming off an overtime loss to the Green Bay Packers the week prior.

Well, the Vikings were on the football field at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday, but they sure played like they were absent, as the Cowboys crushed them by the score of 40-3. Things got so bad, that CBS cut away from this game to the Cincinnati Bengals-Pittsburgh Steelers game in the second half.

Fans of Minnesota’s NFC North rivals enjoyed watching them get routed on Sunday.

Rival fans troll Vikings for huge loss to Cowboys

This certainly wasn’t the follow up game that Vikings fans expected after they pulled off a thrilling overtime victory over the Buffalo Bills the week prior.

Minnesota’s lone points on the day came on their second drive on a 25-yard field goal by Greg Joseph. That was the first, and last time, they added points to the scoreboard. It was all Dallas from there.

The Vikings picked up a total of 183 yards of offense, averaging just 3.4 yards per play. Quarterback Kirk Cousins contributed 105 yards to that total, completing just 12-of-23 pass attempts. Tight end T.J. Hockenson led the team in receiving, catching five-of-nine targets for 34 yards.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys running backs Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard scored all four of their touchdowns. Elliott, in his first game back from injury, ran for 42 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries. Pollard received the same amount of carries, picking up 80 rushing yards. Pollard, however, caught all six of his targets for 109 yards and two touchdowns.

Cowboys kicker Greg Joseph converted on all four field goal attempts, including a 60-yarder just before halftime. Joseph also made all four extra-point attempts.

This is a game that the Vikings would like to put behind them. However, the rival fanbases won’t let them forget it.
