Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants

Cowboys have more fans on Thanksgiving than turkey or stuffing

The Dallas Cowboys played yet another Thanksgiving Day game this season, and they broke a record with viewership.

The Dallas Cowboys are one of just two teams that get to play on Thanksgiving Day every single year.

However, fans proved to appreciate it most this year with a record-high viewership of 42 million people, making it the most-watched regular season game on any network.

The New York Giants fans get credit where credit is due as well, and the game was certainly one for many to enjoy as the Cowboys ultimately reached a 28-20 victory.

The rivalry between the Cowboys and the Giants is extra heated this season as they are in the same competitive division fighting to rise above the Philadelphia Eagles, who have lost just one game so far this season.

Was it the rivalry that drew the fans in? Perhaps the time of day as families unwound from their favorite Thanksgiving foods? Maybe it was the Jonas Brothers in the halftime show? Whatever it was, it kept fans entertained.

Giants vs Cowboys Thanksgiving game was undoubtedly entertaining

The Giants struggled offensively in the matchup while the Cowboys excelled, which certainly contributed to the downfall.

Giants running back Saquon Barkley only had 39 yards on 11 carries, wide receiver Darius Slayton had one catch for five yards in the second half and quarterback Daniel Jones threw for just 105 yards in the second half.

On the other end, the Cowboys were on fire as running back Ezekiel Elliott ran for 92 yards and a score on 16 carries and Tony Pollard added 60 more yards, Dak Prescott delivered in the second half and linebacker Micah Parsons had two sacks and two tackles.

It goes without saying that Giants fans may not have been as thrilled to watch the game as Cowboys fans were. However, nothing will change the fact that it’s drawn in more fans than the NFL has ever had for one regular season game.
