The Chicago Bears have had an unfortunate season so far, and it’s bound to get even worse with two players out for the rest of the season.
The Chicago Bears aren’t having a good time this season as they’re sitting last in the NFC North with a 3-9 record, the second-worst record in the entire league.
Things are only starting to look worse for Chicago in the final stretch of the season as Darnell Mooney and Eddie Jackson have both been announced as out for the rest of the season.
The Bears have been pulling close games, proving to fight hard this season, but more often than not they haven’t been able to reach victories. Things are starting to look much more concerning as they faced a major 31-10 loss against the New York Jets on Sunday.
In all fairness, the Jets are a tough team and they weren’t favored to win. However, looking at their other matchups, they beat some good teams, particularly the New England Patriots.
The Jets and the Patriots are similar teams as they both have concerning offensive lines, so there shouldn’t have been such a difference in results. Mooney and Jackson have been major factors in any success Chicago has managed to scrape together, but now, the Bears don’t have much to hold onto.

Chicago has an extremely difficult schedule for the rest of the season. They’ll face some of the top teams in the league, including the Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings. They’re unlikely to win against these teams anyway, but now they have much less of a chance with Mooney and Jackson both out.
Mooney is one of the best offensive players on the team, leading the Bears in receiving with 40 catches for 493 yards. On the other hand, Jackson is one of the best defensive players, leading the team in tackles (61), interceptions (4), pass breakups (6) and forced fumbles (2).
The Bears are certainly in for some trouble for the rest of the season. But at least they have their draft pick — currently No. 2 overall — to look forward to during these trying times.
