Juan Thornhill pens emotional plea to fans following Bengals loss

Kansas City Chiefs safety Juan Thornhill pleaded with fans to support them and not kick them while they’re down following their Week 13 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Kansas City Chiefs were looking to earn their 10th win of the season and get closer to clinching the AFC West title in Week 13. It just so happens that they had to face the Cincinnati Bengals, the team that beat the twice in the 2021 season, including in the AFC Championship Game.

But on Sunday, the Chiefs lost 27-24 to the Bengals, making it their third straight defeat to the defending AFC champions.

After the game, Chiefs safety Juan Thornhill penned a tweet, asking for fans to support them following their loss, and not kick them while they’re down.

Let’s be fucking respectful here… we play our ass off each and every week for y’all and if a player give up a play or we lose a game y’all bash us. Come on now. We need people to lift us up not join the opposing team and drag us down.

Juan Thornhill asks Chiefs fans to support them after loss to Bengals

“Let’s be f***ing respectful here… we play our ass off each and every week for y’all and if a player give up a play or we lose a game y’all bash us,” wrote Thornhill. “Come on now. We need people to lift us up not join the opposing team and drag us down.

“I do appreciate the Real ones … much respect to you all.”

There were other reactions following the loss, including former offensive tackle Mitchell Schwartz and current defensive lineman Khalen Saunders.

The Chiefs-Bengals tilt this season was already a must-watch event, but then the trash talk during the week only increased the drama.

It was a true back-and-forth game between both teams, with Kansas City overcoming a 14-3 deficit to take a 24-17 lead in the third quarter after a two-yard touchdown pass and three-yard run from quarterback Patrick Mahomes and an eight-yard run by rookie Isaiah Pacheco.

But in the fourth quarter, the Bengals were able to take the 27-24 lead after a 41-yard field goal by Evan McPherson, and a eight-yard pass from quarterback Joe Burrow to running back Chris Evans, the latter of which happened after a fumble by Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

The Bengals have had the Chiefs’ number as of late, but it’s not all doom and gloom for Kansas City. The team is still 9-3 on the year and are in great position to clinch the division. No need to panic, Chiefs fans.

Kansas City faces the 3-9 Denver Broncos next Sunday.
