The Philadelphia Eagles made a purchase for former head coach Doug Pederson and his current team, the Jacksonville Jaguars, for beating the Dallas Cowboys.
Week 15 of the 2022 NFL season might go down as the craziest in quite some time. It had the largest comeback in NFL history by the Minnesota Vikings, and perhaps the most head-scratching sequence to lose a game by the New England Patriots. One of the biggest upsets of the weekend was Doug Pederson’s Jacksonville Jaguars defeating the Dallas Cowboys 40-34 in overtime. With that, the Jaguars are just one game behind the Tennessee Titans for first place in the AFC South.
Jacksonville’s victory was also a win for the Philadelphia Eagles, and it helped cushion their first-place lead over the Cowboys in the NFC East. So, the Eagles decided to send over some thank-you gifts to the Jaguars and their former head coach in Pederson.
Jeff Harris, the owner of Jacksonville restaurant “Philly’s Finest,” revealed to Jaguar Report that the Eagles called them to purchase lunch for Pederson and his coaching staff. That order consisted of 35 cheesesteaks and 25 large fries, which were sent to the Jaguars facility.

“So on Tuesday, we answer the phone by somebody saying they were from the organization and want to send, want to buy Doug Pederson lunch to celebrate beating the Cowboys,” Harris said, per Jaguar Report.
“They love Doug Pederson and they love him in Philly so they want to send them a taste of Philadelphia.”
What a gesture by the Eagles. Pederson was, after all, the head coach of the 2017 team that won the Eagles their first ever Super Bowl title.
The Jaguars had trailed 27-10 midway through the third quarter, but they came to life, scoring touchdowns on three consecutive drives to take a 31-27 lead with over 10 minutes remaining in regulation. The Cowboys would bounce back with a touchdown of their own on a touchdown pass from Dak Prescott to Noah Brown with under four minutes left. Even though they seemingly fumbled a chance to win the game, the Jaguars defense forced a three-and-out, and marched down field to allow Riley Patterson to tie the game on a 48-yard field goal to force overtime.
With Dallas on offense, Prescott tried to connect with Brown on a pass up the middle of the field. The problem was, Brown tipped the ball up into the air, allowing safety Rayshawn Jenkins to intercept it and return it for a game-winning touchdown.
Even with the loss, the Cowboys did secure a playoff spot after the New York Giants defeated the Washington Commanders on Sunday Night Football. But, their chances of winning the division title and clinching a first-round bye are very slim. The very next game the Eagles win, they officially win the NFC East and the No. 1 seed in the conference.
The Eagles have a chance to get the job done this Saturday, when they travel to Dallas to take on the Cowboys. However, it’s uncertain if quarterback and NFL MVP candidate Jalen Hurts will be playing due to a sprained throwing shoulder suffered in Week 15 against the Chicago Bears.
