“Immediate thoughts, at least for me is his family, what his family’s going through,” said Travis. “I’m terrified to ever be laying on the field and having [Jason], Mom, and Dad in question of everything that’s going on. That’s probably the sickest feeling you can have as a player in my mind.”

Jason followed up on that, bringing up his feelings when Travis suffered a concussion in the Chiefs’ 2017-18 playoff game against the Tennessee Titans.

“As a family member, there’s absolutely nothing crazier than somebody you love and not knowing whether they’re gonna be okay,” said Jason. “It’s absolutely the worst feeling in the world. That’s why I don’t remember who you guys are playing half the time because immediately everybody forgot about that. I forgot about it. I’m just thinking about it and trying to text the guys ‘are you all right?’ That was insane.

“Immediately whenever something like that happens, you think about the family members and the friends and the teammates and seeing all the guys’ reactions on the field.”

Midway through the first quarter, Hamlin collapsed after getting up following a tackle. Medical staff went on the field to treat him, and it was revealed that they needed to perform CPR for multiple minutes. Hamlin was given oxygen as he was placed in an ambulance.

The game was officially postponed on Monday night.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Bills released a statement that said Hamlin is still in the ICU in critical condition, but he has shown signs of improvement as of Tuesday.

We will continue to keep you updated on Hamlin’s health, which you can keep track of in the article linked below.
