Former Alabama Crimson Tide and Denver Broncos running back Ahmaad Galloway was found dead at the age of 42.
This past Monday, former Alabama Crimson Tide running back Ahmaad Galloway was found dead at the age of 42, according to Rick Karle of WVTM. Galloway was an eighth-grade English teacher at a St. Louis, Miss. middle school. The school’s principal called for a welfare check at his apartment after he didn’t show up for work. Police checked the apartment, and they found that Galloway had passed away.
“Ahmaad was always on time, very responsible, so we knew something might be wrong,” principal Susan Reid told WVTM. “There wasn’t anything disrupted at Ahmaad’s apartment, so we are thinking that it could have been a medical issue.”
There is no official cause of death as of this writing.

Galloway played four seasons for the Crimson Tide football program.
After his 1999 freshman season, where he backed up future Seattle Seahawks running back Shaun Alexander, Galloway made an impact in the offense. In his sophomore year, Galloway ran for 659 yards and seven touchdowns on 137 carries. Then, in his junior campaign, he rushed for 881 yards and six touchdowns on 174 attempts. His final year with the team was limited to four games after suffering a knee injury.
Through his four years with the program, Galloway recorded 1,830 rushing yards and 17 rushing touchdowns on 376 carries.
Galloway was selected in the seventh-round of the 2003 NFL Draft by the Broncos. After one year with the team, he was traded to the then-San Diego Chargers in 2004. He was part of the team until 2005.
