Free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is reportedly holding an open workout for interested teams. These five organizations should be attending.
The 2023 league year officially kicks off on Wednesday, March 15, but negotiations can begin on March 13 when the tampering window opens up. While teams will have to wait for the opening, there is one player, specifically a wide receiver, they can sign as soon as possible.
Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has been a free agent since the conclusion of the 2021 season, in which he won Super Bowl 56 with the Los Angeles Rams, but suffered a torn ACL. Beckham did go on a brief tour featuring three interested teams, but it was determined that he wouldn’t be healthy enough to play in 2022. Now he is on track to be ready for the 2023 campaign.
On Friday, Beckham will be holding an open workout for all interested teams in Arizona. Considering the number of organizations that need to address the wide receiver position, here are five that should absolutely be in attendance for the workout.

No. 5: New York Giants
Let’s start off with one team that is already confirmed to be attending, the New York Giants.
The Giants were among the three teams that hosted Beckham on his free agency tour this past offseason. He was their 2014 first-round selection, becoming an elite playmaker for them. But after the 2018 season, former general manager Dave Gettleman traded him to the Cleveland Browns, shortly after signing him to a contract extension.
This is a new Giants regime, led by general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll. It just so happens that wide receiver is a glaring need for the Giants this offseason.
New York’s only active wide receivers on the roster will be Isaiah Hodgins, a free agent addition midseason who shined, 2022 second-round pick Wan’Dale Robinson, and Collin Johnson. With quarterback Daniel Jones signing a four-year, $160 million contract, the team needs to bring him some playmakers to help build off of a good 2022 season.
The team can obviously use one of their Day 1 or 2 draft selections on a wide receiver, but it would be quite the story for them to reunite with Beckham.
