Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh talked up one first-round NFL Draft prospect that would become an absolute nightmare for Pittsburgh Steelers fans.
The 2023 NFL Draft officially takes place in Kansas City on Thursday, Apr. 27, so we are in the three week countdown. Fans are going to be following mock drafts and the latest rumors to see what their favorite teams are going to do, especially in the first-round.
For the Baltimore Ravens, the fanbase is wondering what the team is going to do at the quarterback position, as there is uncertainty surrounding Lamar Jackson, who is in need of a new contract. Besides that, the team could stand to add a wide receiver or a cornerback.
Speaking of a cornerback, they have been linked to one of the top prospects at the position in Penn State’s Joey Porter Jr.
During a press conference on Wednesday, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was asked about Porter potentially joining the team. Harbaugh joked that it would be cool to see Porter’s father, a former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker, cheer for the Ravens.
And just like that, the Steelers have their nightmare scenario.

“Seeing Joey Porter Sr. a Ravens fan? I think that would be great for all of us. We’d all enjoy that,” joked Harbaugh.
Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta chimed in, asking if Porter Sr. would actually cheer for the Ravens. Harbaugh responded, “Of course he would, you root for your family first, man.”
Porter Jr. officially visited the Ravens on Thursday, three weeks before the opening night of NFL Draft.
The thing with Porter potentially joining the Ravens is that the team holds the No. 22 pick. The Steelers, meanwhile, hold the No. 17 pick. Pittsburgh does have a need at cornerback, even with their additions to replace Cam Sutton. But, the cornerback class is incredibly deep, so there’s a possibility that the Steelers prefer another prospect. Or, they could opt to draft another position.
But, imagine seeing a longtime Steeler like Porter Sr., who made the Pro Bowl three times and won Super Bowl 40 during his eight years with the team (1999-2006), cheer for the Ravens. That is something that Steelers fans don’t want to imagine.
Steelers fans will be anxiously waiting to see what will happen in the first round of the upcoming NFL Draft. Not just to see who Pittsburgh drafts, but also Baltimore.
