Stetson Bennett IV to replace Georgia legend to be next Kurt Warner

Stetson Bennett IV to the Los Angeles Rams means he could become their next Kurt Warner.

I don’t think it was humanly possible for Georgia legend Stetson Bennett IV to go to a better place for him than the Los Angeles Rams.

He may hail from South Georgia, but there are plenty of Peach State ties to this NFL franchise. His head coach Sean McVay went to Marist just outside of Atlanta. Bennett will be backing up former UGA starter Matthew Stafford. Even his new general manager Les Snead cut his teeth with the Atlanta Falcons under Thomas Dimitroff before taking over the Rams’ front office back in St. Louis.

With Bennett being the 2023 NFL Draft‘s version of Baker Mayfield, who played so well down the stretch for the Rams last year, you have to be excited for him and his family about this selection.

Fate would have it, college football’s version of Kurt Warner now will play for the same NFC West franchise he took to the promised land in the unforgettable 1999 campaign. It is all lining up here!

Stetson Bennett IV goes to the absolutely perfect spot for him with the L.A. Rams

Of course, he is going to have to put in the work, but this landing spot for The Mailman feels even more perfect with each passing second. This is a stable organization in a city full of stars. So if he is a celebrity backup, who cares? Los Angeles can handle it. Even more so, we saw first-hand what he can do under the bright lights of SoFi Stadium. Dallas-Fort Worth has not been the same since.

Even though Stafford and McVay are very tight, as Kelly Stafford’s brother Chad Hall was childhood friends with McVay, the former No. 1 overall pick by the Detroit Lions is not a kid anymore. Stafford is firmly in his mid-30s. He is the Rams’ starting quarterback, but I know he would have no problem helping show the greatest player in UGA history the ropes of the NFL.

I mean, they’re Dawgs, dude!

And in a weird way, I think this draft pick reinvigorates McVay a bit. He may eventually go to television, but I think he just drafted a quarterback who fits what he wants to do offensively. Bennett may not have the cannon of Stafford or the touch of his predecessor Jared Goff, but Bennett plays with a certain moxie that just fits L.A. This fit for him could not have been better.

Looks like Dawg Nation is about to spend all the money in the world on Bennett No. 13 Rams gear.
