Teddy Bridgewater doesn’t have many chances to tackle as the Broncos quarterback but, when he does, he showed why he isn’t afraid of a business decision.
Several weeks ago as Teddy Bridgewater and the Denver Broncos faced off with the Eagles, the quarterback took some flak for making a “business decision” on a Darius Slay fumble return. Specifically, the quarterback had an angle at a tackle and showed no interest in trying to make a play.
Bridgewater addressed that when asked about it after the game and even said he would do better moving forward. He got the opportunity to do that on Sunday Night Football against the Chiefs.
A man of his word, the Broncos quarterback threw an ugly pick to Daniel Sorensen who then had eyes for the end zone. Bridgewater made a run at the Kansas City safety but, when he made contact, Sorensen made him look like he wasn’t even there en route to a 75-yard pick-six.
Broncos: Teddy Bridgewater didn’t avoid contact against the Chiefs and looked foolish
If that’s what a Teddy Bridgewater tackle looks like, maybe Denver is just as well off with him not even trying and avoiding any type of hit.
Jokes aside, Bridgewater did show effort, it just didn’t remotely matter on the play. And for what it’s worth, a tip of the cap to Sorensen for an A+ celebration on his way into the end zone.
That pick-six, unfortunately for Broncos fan, was indicative of how the night went. Their offense could hardly get anything going outside of Javonte Williams and the Chiefs defense stepped up big to lead KC to a 22-9 win.
