Packers 2020 third-round pick out for year with torn ACL

Josiah Deguara is out for the season, further depleting the Green Bay Packers’ receiving corps.

With a grand total of one catch on the year, Josiah Deguara‘s rookie season is over.

The third-round pick by the Green Bay Packers in the 2020 NFL Draft has torn his ACL and will not be a part of the team’s season the rest of the way. Deguara played in two games for the Packers, including their Monday Night Football win over the flightless Atlanta Falcons. Though he was grossly over-drafted coming out of the University of Cincinnati, the Packers need to respond.

As long as Robert Tonyan plays like he did, Green Bay will survive this loss.

Green Bay is sitting pretty at 4-0. The Packers are getting an NFL MVP-level season out of their superstar quarterback. Though Green Bay is running train on the opposition by way of star running back Aaron Jones, Rodgers is back in the spotlight as the undisputed best player in his division. He is why Green Bay is the presumptive favorite to represent the NFC in Super Bowl 55 at this time.

However, he can’t do it alone. Packers general manager Brian Gutenkunst drafted a quarterback in the first round in Jordan Love who shouldn’t play a snap this year, a running back AJ Dillon who won’t take carries away from Jones and Deguara gave them one catch for 12 yards this year. Green Bay is good, and we know that, but Gutekunst must be ripped for his terrible draft constantly.

As Green Bay looks to stay undefeated, their receiving depth chart takes yet another hit.
