Latest Antonio Brown drama makes you wonder why Buccaneers think he’s worth the trouble

Antonio Brown was reportedly involved in another concerning off-field incident.

No one can doubt Antonio Brown’s skill as a receiver, but the newest Tampa Bay Buccaneers star’s temper is so volatile it’s jeopardizing his football career. While Tampa Bay is swearing up and down that Brown can change and conform to their code of conduct, some troubling accusations were made against him in the days leading up to him signing with the Bucs.

David Ovalle of the Miami Herald is reporting that just before Brown signed with Tampa Bay, he was accused of angrily destroying a security camera at the Hollywood Oaks gated community. Brown was also accused of throwing his bicycle at a security guard’s shack.  While local police determined they could charge Brown with misdemeanor criminal mischief, the president of the homeowners association refused to press charges, citing fear of retaliation.

Is Antonio Brown worth the headache?

2019 was a year in which three separate coaches with Super Bowl rings all gave up on him, as Mike Tomlin, Jon Gruden and Bill Belichick all decided to part ways with Antonio Brown due to either his behavior in the locker room or troubling legal history. Brown signed a very cheap deal with Tampa Bay after Brady insisted that he could contribute to Tampa’s championship push.

Brown has played in two games for the Buccaneers, one of which was a 38-3 pummeling at the hands of the Saints, and has recorded 10 catches for 100 yards. While Brown has supporters, namely Brady, head coach Bruce Arians has insisted that Brown is on a one-strike policy, and any concerning incident on or off the field will lead to his release.

Brown might not face any criminal charges for this incident, but this certainly goes against Tampa Bay’s insistence that he has turned over a new leaf. If the structured environment of the NFL doesn’t help Brown straighten his life out, he could continue to explode and get in trouble with the law.
