Carlos Dunlap sealed Thursday night’s victory for the Seahawks with a clutch sack.
The Seattle Seahawks decided to beef up the defense before the trade deadline by acquiring Carlos Dunlap from the Cincinnati Bengals. He was openly unhappy on his former team and got a fresh start as part of a Super Bowl contender.
The trade paid off in a big way Thursday night as Dunlap was the one taking Kyler Murray to the turf to seal the victory over the Arizona Cardinals.
A great play and game for the veteran
This was Dunlap’s second sack of the night and came on a fourth down with the Cardinals threatening to score and tie the game. But Murray stayed stagnant for too long and Dunlap was there to finish the game.
The 31-year-old spent a decade with the Bengals and seems to be energized after joining a true contender. He also had a sack in his Seahawks debut against the Buffalo Bills. This came after limited results with the Bengals as it was clear the relationship needed to end.
The Seahawks are now 7-3 and alone in first place atop the competitive NFC West division. Russell Wilson continues to play like an MVP and now the defense has a two-time Pro Bowler in Dunlap roaming around. Seattle is no joke in 2020 and the Cardinals got a reminder of that in crushing fashion.
