Never throw Jason Pierre-Paul’s way.
Jason Pierre-Paul is already exceeding expectations on Monday night thanks to his recent play.
During the Los Angeles Rams’ opening drive in the third quarter, Jared Goff felt the pressure coming from the Bucs’ front seven. Hoping just to get the pass off, Goff delivered a ball well short of his target. Instead, it landed right in Pierre-Paul’s hands and he hauled it back 14 yards the other way. It would eventually set up the field goal to bring the score even.
This isn’t anything new for Pierre-Paul
For those wondering, JPP has been an enforcer with turnovers all season long. Last week against Teddy Bridgewater, he hauled in his third career pick. In back-to-back games with interceptions, Pierre-Paul now has doubled his career numbers in 145 career games.
Pierre-Paul’s season has been essential to the Bucs’ top-tier success in Todd Bowles system. In 10 games, the South Florida native has tallied 7.5 sacks, 35 total tackles, two pass deflections and 10 quarterback hits. Tampa currently is tied for third in the league for sacks with 32.
Never forget that JPP lost a finger after a freak accident and still is making catches. With Jamel Dean likely out due to a concussion, maybe the outside linebacker can be moved to the outside and play in coverage against Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods.
