NFL power rankings, Week 13: Packers rise, Raiders fall

The Green Bay Packers rose in the NFL power rankings after hammering the Chicago Bears, while the Las Vegas Raiders fall after an ugly defeat.

32

New York Jets 0-11

Last rank: 32nd

It’s impossible not to see 0-16 coming. It’s baked in at this point.

31

Jacksonville Jaguars 1-10

Last rank: 31st

The Jaguars won in Week 1, and they really might not win again.

30

Cincinnati Bengals 2-8-1

Last rank: 30th

It’s going to be a long rest of the way without Joe Burrow, for the team and fans.

29

Philadelphia Eagles 3-6-1

Last rank: 29th

How can anybody watch this team? Apparently, the owner can’t.

28

Dallas Cowboys 3-8

Last rank: 27th

The schedule is easy, but the Cowboys are a complete tire fire.

27

Los Angeles Chargers 3-8

Last rank: 25th

Anthony Lynn has to go. The time management is appalling.

26

Detroit Lions 4-7

Last rank: 23rd

Finally, Matt Patricia is gone. Exult, Detroit!

25

Denver Broncos 4-7

Last rank: 21st

The Broncos had no quarterback and no chance against the Saints on Sunday.

24

Washington Football Team 4-7

Last rank: 28th

Alex Smith is the best story going, and Washington is somehow in the race.

23

Houston Texans 4-7

Last rank: 26th

The Texans are playing better without Bill O’Brien. Jeez, nobody saw that coming.

22

Carolina Panthers 4-8

Last rank: 19th

Even without Christian McCaffrey, the Panthers are in every game. They just can’t finish the job most weeks.

21

Atlanta Falcons 4-7

Last rank: 24th

Beating the Raiders 43-6? The best week of a bad season for the Falcons.

20

New York Giants 4-7

Last rank: 20th

An ugly win with an injury to Daniel Jones, but the Giants are in a playoff spot with a month to go.

19

San Francisco 49ers 5-6

Last rank: 22nd

What a gritty, gutsy win by the 49ers. San Francisco is incredibly banged-up and one game out of a playoff spot.

18

Chicago Bears 5-6

Last rank: 16th

It’s over. The Bears have no quarterback, and no hope. Five-game losing streak and counting.

17

New England Patriots 5-6

Last rank: 18th

New England’s offense is pathetic, but the defense did enough against Kyler Murray and Nick Folk made the pressure kick.

16

Minnesota Vikings 5-6

Last rank: 17th

Despite their best effort, the Vikings beat the Panthers.

15

Las Vegas Raiders 6-5

Last rank: 11th

The Raiders have to fall. They lost by 37 points to the Falcons. This is obvious, but an absolute must-win against the Jets on Sunday.

14

Arizona Cardinals 6-5

Last rank: 13th

Can’t lose that game to the Patriots. Stuffed at the goal line, a missed kick and a defensive failure at the end against a punchless unit.

13

Miami Dolphins 7-4

Last rank: 15th

The Dolphins get little credit for beating the Jets, especially with all the offensive struggles. It was an ugly win.

12

Baltimore Ravens 6-5

Last rank: 12th

Tough to really knock the Ravens down. They lost with half their team out, on the road, against an unbeaten team.

11

Cleveland Browns 8-3

Last rank: 14th

What to do with Cleveland? The Browns have a negative point differential and one quality win, but they’re 8-3 and that’s worth celebrating.

10

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 7-4

Last rank: 8th

The Bucs fought hard down the stretch, but they were smoked by Patrick Mahomes and Co.

9

Los Angeles Rams 7-4

Last rank: 5th

You can’t lose at home to the Niners right now. Just an in excusable loss.

8

Indianapolis Colts 7-4

Last rank: 6th

The absence of Denico Autry and DeForest Buckner was crushing for the Colts. Good team, bad day.

7

Tennessee Titans 8-3

Last rank: 10th

Big win in Indianapolis for the Titans, who now firmly control their own destiny in the AFC South.

6

Seattle Seahawks 8-3

Last rank: 9th

Business was handled in Philadelphia, and now it’s home to face the Giants (perhaps without Daniel Jones) on Sunday.

5

Green Bay Packers 8-3

Last rank: 7th

The Packers finished off the Bears on Sunday night, and with it, essentially locked up the NFC North.

4

Buffalo Bills 8-3

Last rank: 4th

Buffalo allowed the Chargers to hang around a bit, but the Bills look like the third-best team in the AFC.

3

New Orleans Saints 9-2

Last rank: 3rd

New Orleans hasn’t given up more than 13 points in a month. Yes, the Broncos didn’t. have a quarterback, but the defense has been very impressive.

2

Pittsburgh Steelers 10-0

Last rank: 2nd

Pittsburgh is basically playing a preseason version of the Ravens, so here’s to guessing it’s a rout.

1

Kansas City Chiefs 10-1

Last rank: 1st

Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce are the best trio of stars in football, and it’s not close.
