Celebrate the five-year anniversary of Aaron Rodgers’ incredible Hail Mary for a touchdown in 2015 to stun the Detroit Lions.
Throughout his incredible career, future Hall-of-Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers had delivered with countless sensational throws for the Green Bay Packers. With his rocket for an arm, it should come as no surprise that he’s also managed to be successful on multiple Hail Mary throws with games on the line.
This includes his game-winner back in 2015, when Rodgers stunned the Detroit Lions with one of the best throws he’s made in his career. As it turns out, that incredible moment came five years ago today. If you need a refresher of the brilliance, take a look for yourself below.
Packers fans will never forget Aaron Rodgers’ Hail Mary against the Lions in 2015
It was an incredible throw by Rodgers, and perhaps an even better catch by former Green Bay tight end Richard Rodgers II. Thanks to that magnificent hookup, the Packers took down the Lions, leaving the fans at Ford Field absolutely stunned.
Not only did Green Bay come out on top thanks to a prayer, but they also took down a division rival, making things even sweeter. For Aaron Rodgers, he could barely contain himself after that game-winner and no one can blame him for it.
Fast forward to 2020 and the signal-caller continues to dazzle whenever he slings the ball around. On the year, Aaron Rodgers has thrown for 3,100 yards, 31 touchdowns (No. 1 in the NFL) and only four interceptions. Remember when folks assumed he was regressing after the Packers used their 2020 first-round pick on Jordan Love? Yeah, those people look pretty darn foolish right now.
Looking ahead, Aaron Rodgers has the Packers looking like a serious threat to win the NFC this winter. And hey, if they need some late magic via a Hail Mary, don’t be surprised if he’s able to get the job done.
