The Chiefs have one of the most talented rosters in the NFL, but they’re going to lose several big-name stars in free agency this offseason.
Superstars like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Tyrann Mathieu give the Chiefs one of the most star-studded rosters in the entire NFL. Combine that with high-level coaching and it’s easy to understand why Kansas City is one of the league’s best teams on an annual basis.
That doesn’t mean the Chiefs won’t face challenges this offseason. Other teams around the NFL will do their best to pry talent away from Kansas City. It’s going to be particularly challenging for GM Brett Veach to stop his roster from being picked apart in free agency.
No one should feel sorry for what the Chiefs will go through once the season is over, but they are going to lose as much talent as anyone in the league. Fans in Kansas City should enjoy the play of the three following players before they leave ahead of the 2021 campaign.

Daniel Sorensen
S Kansas City Chiefs
Sorensen has been a key contributor for the Chiefs since they drafted him, but his play has dropped off precipitously in 2020. He’s arguably been the defense’s weakest starter as evidenced by his PFF grade of 50.1 on the season.
Kansas City’s front office will not have any interest in paying Sorensen anything close to the $4.75 million he earned this season. They’ll be content to move forward with Tyrann Mathieu and Juan Thornhill as their starting safeties.
That will send Sorsenen to the free agent market where he will do his best to find a new team willing to sign him as a starter at free safety. Don’t be shocked if he struggles to find a taker and has to take a one-year deal with a team that will give him an opportunity to rehabilitate his value before hitting free agency again. The Chiefs will move on from Sorensen and shouldn’t miss his play in the secondary.
