Andre Johnson backed Deshaun Watson amid trade rumors, calling out his former team, the Houston Texans.

Quarterback Deshaun Watson remains one of the best quarterbacks in the league, but owner Cal McNair has alienated him by relying heavily on Jack Easterby in the front office, refusing to interview Eric Bieniemy until it was too late. This in addition to hiring Nick Caserio as general manager despite not interviewing for the job.
Former Texans legend Andre Johnson is one of the many Texans fans that is fed up with McNair and Easterby, voicing his support for Watson amid the seemingly constant chaos.
Johnson told Watson to “stand his ground” amid all of this uncertainty, claiming that Easterby’s presence in the front office has been the common denominator in all of these controversial Texans decisions.

Watson led the league in passing yards and yards per attempt last year, yet they were unable to amass anything more than a handful of wins. That blame falls squarely on the deposed Bill O’Brien and the front office, as the Laremy Tunsil trade ended up costing them the No. 3 pick in the draft.
With minimal cap space and draft capital, the one transformative asset that Houston has is Watson. The fact that McNair is doing everything in his power to upset him is genuinely baffling, and that refusal to appease Watson could lead to him wanting out.
Former Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins also supported Johnson’s claim, asserting that fans should listen when he speaks.
Johnson sees what most outside the organization can see. McNair clearly thinks that essentially a team chaplain in Easterby has more football knowledge than anyone else in his organization, both in the front office and on the field. Either the front office will make nice with Watson, or they will further alienate him and force the best quarterback in franchise history to demand a trade.
