For all the Green Bay Packers fans, you should be lucky to have Aaron Rodgers this weekend
The NFC playoffs might be the toughest battle to date. Four teams have a chance to represent the conference down in Tampa Bay and hoist the Lombardi Trophy come February.
The Green Bay Packers have to be the front-runners and with good reason. Aaron Rodgers led a team that was scrutinized all offseason to a 13-3 finish. Green Bay trampled the charts with the No.1 passing offense and claimed the top seed, forcing the playoffs to come through Lambeau Field.
Good luck to the Los Angeles Rams this weekend in below freezing.
Rodgers is the x-factor this postseason. Should he struggle, Green Bay will struggle. However, one stat proves that the Packers’ quarterback is so good at home, not even inclement weather can throw him off.
How dangerous can Aaron Rodgers this postseason?
It’s hard not to imagine Rodgers and Green Bay as the top team in the NFL this season. All the 37-year-old quarterback did was win. And when he lost, he rebounded with one of the best games of his season.
The legacy of Rodgers will be capped off this year in style. He finished throwing a career-high and NFL-leading 48 touchdown passes against five interceptions. Rodgers also set a single-season franchise record for touchdown passes and completion percentage at 70.7 percent.
To put into context how dominant Rodgers’ was, punter JK Scott only played in 46 snaps on fourth down. That’s two fewer punts that touchdowns from the two-time MVP.
The Rams will be in for a tall task against the Green Bay offense. No one has been able to contain. Devante Adams while Rodgers has only been sacked 21 times all year, the second-lowest in the NFL. Meanwhile, Los Angeles could be playing without their best defender Aaron Donald, or see him at a limited capacity.
Two games will separate Rodgers from heading back to the big game. If stats prove anything, this should be an easy trip over the next two weeks.
