Kareem Hunt has jokes for the Pittsburgh Steelers after they took them out in the AFC Wild Card Round.
Despite being 11-0 to begin the season, there might not have been a worse team down the stretch than the Pittsburgh Steelers. Everything fell off the wagon for the Mike Tomlin-led roster, with basically only a half of solid football left on the resume.
The Cleveland Browns have been laughing stock for most of the 21st century. Since 2002, Cleveland only had one season above .500 ball and they still missed the playoffs altogether. Things changed under Kevin Stefanski, and the lackluster Browns slowly looked like a contender.
Cleveland set an NFL record by scoring 28 unanswered points against the Steelers in the Wild Card Round. JuJu Smith-Schuster, the team’s outspoke wide receiver, has been known for his “corvette, corvette” Tik Tok trend over the past several weeks.
For Browns running back Kareem Hunt, it was the perfect payback when signing autographs after the team’s 48-37 win.
Hunt gave the Steelers their comeuppance
Hunt played a pivotal role in the team’s victory over their AFC North rival two weeks ago. Sure, he only tallied 48 rushing yards, but he also scored the team’s only two rushing touchdowns. He also added another catch for 13 yards in the third quarter.
Last week in the Divisional Round against the Kansas City Chiefs, it was a similar story. The former Chiefs’ star only had 32 yards on the afternoon, but his three-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter put Cleveland within striking distance.
Unfortunately, the Browns would lose, 22-17, on a critical fourth-down play with Chad Henne under center.
Hunt, who led the NFL with 1,327 yards during his rookie season with Kansas City, received a second chance under general manager John Dorsey, who drafted him in 2017 out of Toledo. It’s paid off in two years as he remains a prime running back in the NFL, even with his limited workload.
Things are trending in the right direction for the Browns entering the 2021 offseason. Hunt is a key part of that. Soon, they could be driving away with the division thanks to a 1-2 combination in the backfield.
Isn’t that right, JuJu?
