Aaron Rodgers seems to have cleared up some confusion around his comments following the Packers’ NFC Championship loss to the Buccaneers.
For the second consecutive year, Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers lost in the NFC Championship game, this time to Tom Brady in his first season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
This game had a ton of buzz surrounding it and for good reason. It was the first playoff meeting between Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady, undoubtedly two of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game. So when Rodgers and the Pack suffered their heartbreaking 31-26 loss, it wasn’t a surprise to hear him voice a little disappointment.
What was a surprise though, was Aaron Rodgers seeming to hint at an uncertain future with Green Bay, and possibly retirement. The comments caused so much of a stir that former Green Bay Packer quarterback and football legend Brett Favre had to assure Packers fans that everything would work out fine.
Since the game, Rodgers has cleared up some of the speculation around his return to the team and his comments after the NFC Championship Game.
This is what we would expect the veteran quarterback to say, especially considering he’s signed for years to come.
While he isn’t likely to be traded, we’ve got to think that he’s nearing the end of his leash with the Packers. We’ll see if they decide to get him some help this offseason.
