Mitchell Trubisky has some fun news to share this offseason in the form of an engagement.
Mitchell Trubisky has had an up-and-down start to his NFL career with the Chicago Bears. And that is still a bit of an understatement.
He doesn’t know where he will play in 2021, but he does have some much more exciting news to share. That comes in the form of an engagement, shared by his now-fiancee Hillary Gallagher. She shared a picture and video of the moment on Instagram.
Trubisky starts his offseason on a positive note
Going to a luxury resort and getting engaged is a nice consolation when not playing in the Super Bowl. Trubisky can now add “planning a wedding” to his offseason to-do list.
Next up comes figuring out where he will play in 2021. The Bears decided not to pick up his expensive fifth-year option but may want to run it back with him on a short-term deal after he did help lead the team to the postseason in 2020.
Trubisky famously went No. 2 overall in the 2017 NFL Draft and letting him walk may mean GM Ryan Pace must go too. Sticking by Trubisky for so long and letting him walk for nothing may not go over well higher up in the organization.
But this adds a nice positive layer to what could end up being a stressful offseason. He looks as happy as can be in the IG post and in his fiancee’s IG story. Who doesn’t love a young happy couple? And it may just turn out all the unknowns about his career immediately fade away thanks to a nice long-term deal.
