Tom Brady throwing a touchdown pass to Rob Gronkowski is surely killing Patriots fans everywhere right now.
There’s no tradition quite like Tom Brady hooking up with Rob Gronkowski for a postseason touchdown. This year, however, things sure are a little different. That’s because instead of making plays for Bill Belichick and the Patriots, the two are connecting for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
With Sunday’s score, Brady and Gronk have now recorded 13 touchdowns together in the playoffs, with four coming in the Super Bowl. As great as it is to see for Bucs fans, you know everyone in New England is depressed seeing it.
Patriots fans must be hurting watching Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski in the Super Bowl
A quick look at Twitter shows that Pats fans indeed are feeling a bit glum. While they’re fired up for the two New England legends, they of course wish they were making plays for the Patriots and no one else.
Can you blame Patriots supporters for feeling this way? The two were sensational for New England, winning three Super Bowls together. This season, New England had a campaign to forget, going 7-9 on the year and missing the playoffs.
Brady signed his two-year deal with Tampa Bay and now has the Bucs on the verge of taking home the Lombardi Trophy. Should Brady and Tampa Bay get the victory, it’d be Brady’s seventh Super Bowl ring and his first outside of Massachusetts.
While countless fans out there are probably wishing nothing but the best for Brady and Gronk, a lot of those same folks can’t help but feel jealous and sad seeing the two making big plays once again. Things might only get worse if Tampa Bay goes on to beat Kansas City.
