Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper makes kids’ day by playing an impromptu game of catch.
It’s not too often that you run into an NFL star outside of the football stadium. But it is rare that you get the chance to actually play catch with one of the top receivers in the league.
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper was out house hunting, according to TMZ Sports, and spotted kids playing football in the street. Cooper sent his friend over to the children, asking them if they watched Cowboys games and if they wanted to meet the star receiver. After they met, Cooper played an impromptu game of catch with the kids.
A memory those kids will never forget
Now that is something those kids will never, ever forget.
If you noticed Cooper limping, that is because he underwent a minor cleanup procedure in his right ankle at the conclusion of the 2020 season. Despite that, Cooper is still on track to be ready for offseason workouts.
Last year, Cooper was the top wide receiver on the open market after spending over a season-and-a-half with the Cowboys. Dallas, hoping to contend for the Super Bowl, ensured that Cooper would not sign elsewhere, as they offered him a five-year, $100 million contract. The Super Bowl aspirations ended rather quickly into the season after star quarterback Dak Prescott was lost for the year with a compound fracture and dislocation of his right ankle. Even so, Cooper had a great year with the likes of Andy Dalton, Ben DiNucci and Garrett Gilbert throwing him the ball.
Through 16 games, Cooper caught a career-high 92 passes for 1,114 yards and five touchdowns.
Once the 2021 regular-season kicks off, you can virtually guarantee that these kids are going to be rooting for Cooper to make it to Super Bowl 56 based off his kind gesture.
