Tom Brady is already bored now that he can’t win football games.
There are no football games to win, Tom. You won them all.
Brady and the Bucs enjoyed their Super Bowl aftermath, including a parade where TB12 may have had a little too much to drink. Brady has already started his offseason preparation, as he’s committed to coming back for at least one more season in a race for Super Bowl No. 7.
Still, offseason prep isn’t the same as going out ever Sunday with your teammates. Brady doesn’t know what to do with all this free time in the Florida sunshine.
Is there anything more NFL offseason than Brady’s tweet?
Well, perhaps writing about Tom Brady’s tweet.
Brady and the Buccaneers should be in prime position to repeat, even if they lose the likes of Antonio Brown and Chris Godwin. Despite Bruce Arians’ bold declaration that Tampa Bay would bring back the same club and then some, recent free agent history would suggest otherwise. Super Bowl winners are constantly picked from, with role players receiving lucrative contracts they otherwise don’t deserve. That’s what makes repeating so tough — it’s virtually an entirely different team from the previous season.
The Bucs will still have No. 12, though, and that’s what matters. Not to mention, now that ‘Tompa Bay’ has proven they can live up to their Super Bowl aspirations, they should have no trouble attracting top free agents to come at a discounted price. It’s the benefit of winning.
It’s nice to see Brady proving himself outside of the Patriot Way and Bill Belichick’s system. Already solidified as the GOAT, Brady can spend this offseason deciding what comes next.
