The Buffalo Bills have made a monster offseason move, as the team has agreed to a four-year contract with stud linebacker Matt Milano.
After a sensational 2020 campaign, the Buffalo Bills are already gearing up for next campaign and have done so by making an early splash. That’s because according to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the organization has agreed to a four-year deal with standout linebacker Matt Milano.
Milano is coming off a big year in Buffalo and was expected to draw plenty of interest in free agency this offseason. However, the Bills aren’t letting that happen and have locked up the hard-hitter instead.
Buffalo just sent a big statement by keeping star linebacker Matt Milano in town
With Milano making plays for the defense, the Bills indeed had a big year in 2020, winning the AFC East and making serious noise in the postseason. Unfortunately for Buffalo, the team ran into the Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes in the AFC Championship Game, suffering a 38-24 defeat.
With that said, the Bills really impressed last year and have hopes of downing Kansas City next season to book a trip to the Super Bowl. With Milano not going anywhere, this is most certainly going to help the squad’s chances of doing that.
Since arriving to Buffalo in 2017, Milano has been a tackle machine for the Bills, posting 273 stops and adding six sacks. Last season, the 6-foot-1, 223-pound outside ‘backer saw action in 10 games, making five starts. He finished the campaign with 45 tackles and a career-high 3.5 sacks.
Now, he’ll enter the ’21 season with his new $44 million deal, which includes $24 million guaranteed. Milano will look to live up to his contract starting in Week 1. We’ll see what he and the Bills will be able to get done next season, as expectations will surely be high.
