If D.J. Chark was being traded from the Jacksonville Jaguars to the Baltimore Ravens, you would think co-owner Tony Khan would be one of the first people to know about the deal.
Jacksonville Jaguars co-owner Tony Khan put to rest any notion of wide receiver D.J. Chark being traded to the Baltimore Ravens with one hilarious Twitter reply on Monday.
SB Nation’s Ravens blog Baltimore Beatdown tweeted out a Chark to the Ravens trade could be in the works. By using ‘multiple non-reputable sources’, there was nothing “concrete” about it. Khan replied by saying, “Here’s something concrete: That’s the biggest load of crap I’ve ever read. That’s 100 percent false.”
If Khan says Chark will remain a Jaguar, then he will remain in Jacksonville.
Look for D.J. Chark to catch passes from Trevor Lawrence in Jacksonville
With Urban Meyer coming to the Jaguars organization, you better believe the passing offense will be electrifying. Jacksonville is expected to use the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft on Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence. If Lawrence is as good of a prospect as we think he will be, Chark would love nothing more than to become his new quarterback’s favorite receiving target.
Jacksonville is coming off a horrendous 1-15 season, losers of its last 15 games. While Chark is one of the few assets on the Jaguars that could net quite a bit in a trade, it is hard to part ways with a talented wide receiver still on his rookie contract. Look for the Lawrence-to-Chark connection to be what ushers in a new era of Jaguars football with Meyer at the helm in Duval.
When Khan shoots down your trade rumor involving the Jaguars, then the rumor has no juice to it.
