Bills give Josh Allen another weapon with Emmanuel Sanders

It looks like Josh Allen will have yet another weapon to throw to this season as the Buffalo Bills have signed veteran receiver Emmanuel Sanders.

Tons of NFL teams are having to make cuts and restructure contracts in attempts to get below the salary cap. The New Orleans Saints had more decisions to make than most teams and had to cut veteran receiver Emmanuel Sanders in the process.

Now it looks like Sanders has found a new home and its with rising star Josh Allen in Buffalo, according to Dan Fetes of 13 WHAM. The 33-year-old will look to bolster the Buffalo Bills‘ already solid receiving core.

Emmanuel Sanders to continue career with the Buffalo Bills

Last season, Sanders pulled in 61 passes for 726 total yards and five touchdowns. Prior to his stint in New Orleans, Sanders was a solid receiving option for Jimmy Garappolo in San Fransisco. Heading into his 11th season, the veteran joins a veteran receiving core consisting of the likes of Stefon Diggs and Cole Beasley.

He’ll bring championship pedigree to the Bills, having won a Super Bowl with the Broncos during the 2015 season and reached another Super Bowl with the Niners in 2019 and the Steelers in 2010.

Sanders has not yet been officially released by the Saints, which the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports will happen on Wednesday, but according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, it’ll be a one-year, $6 million agreement with Buffalo.

Sanders ought to see plenty of single-man coverage with Diggs and Beasley still commanding attention from defensive backs. We’ll see if Allen can utilize him as Buffalo attempts to push itself further into Super Bowl contention conversations.
