Joe Burrow was seen cheering on the Ohio basketball team during March Madness.
While Joe Burrow stars for the NFL‘s Cincinnati Bengals these days, he will never forget where he comes from. Here he is with his father Jimmy Burrow rooting on the Ohio basketball team in the Round of 32 from iconic Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Though Burrow never played for the Bobcats, his father was the longtime defensive coordinator for Frank Solich in Athens. This is where Burrow grew up, and he has long been a supporter of all things Southeast Ohio during his football career. The No. 13 Bobcats stunned the Virginia Cavaliers in the Round of 64. They squared off vs. the No. 5 Creighton Bluejays on Monday in Indianapolis.
Joe Burrow is the man of the people when it comes to Ohio sports
Burrow originally played his college football for Urban Meyer at Ohio State in Columbus. After not winning the starting job vs. Dwayne Haskins ahead of his junior season, Burrow transferred to LSU to play for Ed Orgeron. In his redshirt senior season, Burrow put together arguably the greatest single-season any college football player has ever had before. He came a Bayou Bengal legend.
Ultimately, no matter where Burrow’s sports career takes him, it always brings him back to Ohio. He may have left the state briefly to star in SEC country, but he now plays in the southwestern corner of the state for Cincinnati. Whether it is the Bengals, the Buckeyes, the Bobcats or his beloved Cleveland Cavaliers, Burrow is all about Ohio sports. He would not have it any other way.
It does not matter Burrow is not an alum of Ohio U, here is there to support his boyhood team.
