Michael Strahan has apparently gotten rid of his signature gapped tooth look and we’re not sure how we feel about it.
It’s never too late to make drastic changes to your life. Just ask former New York Giants defensive end turned television personality, Michael Strahan.
The Super Bowl XLII champion posted a video to his Instagram on Tuesday that shows the Hall of Famer at the dentist’s office getting some work done.
Strahan, who spent 15 years in the NFL, had become known for his unconventional smile that features a noticeable gap between his two front teeth.
He starts the video acknowledging the fact that those closest to him have encouraged him to keep the gap, but that he must do what he wants to do at this point in his life. By the end of the video, Strahan is showing off a flawless, gap-free smile.
Could Michael Strahan’s new smile be an April Fool’s joke?
Any logical person would ask why Strahan felt the need to correct his smile now.
After all, he successfully transitioned into television years ago. He’s a football analyst on Fox NFL Sunday and the co-host of ABC’s Good Morning America. Strahan co-hosted Live! with Kelly and Michael with Kelly Ripa, the syndicated daytime talk show from 2012 to 2016and won two Daytime Emmy Awards for his work there.
So what’s with the new grill?
We can’t be exactly sure. In the video, he says that the moment has been “50 years in the making”, alluding to the fact that he’s wanted to correct his smile for quite some time.
With April Fool’s Day just days away (Thursday), this could all be a big joke, or a sponsorship opportunity, or something of the sort. Or, it could be a feel-good story about a sports legend finally deciding to reach an off-the-field goal. Either way, Strahan looks great and we love to see a smile that big given the year we’ve all had.
