Jacksonville Jaguars fans gave their new quarterback Trevor Lawrence the perfect wedding gift after the Clemson star tied the knot to Marissa Mowry.
Jacksonville Jaguars fans came together to get a wedding gift for their future franchise quarterback Trevor Lawrence who tied the knot last weekend.
Lawrence and Marissa Mowry, who got engaged last year, got married in South Carolina and Jaguars fans came together through social media to get something off the young couple’s registry.
What started out as something silly and light-hearted with fans crowd-funding money to buy a $299.95 toaster — the classic wedding gift — turned into something much more than originally anticipated.
With donations starting to roll through from Jaguars fans, there was more money left over to start buying more items off the wedding registry.

But then the donations really started to come through that there was more than $6,000 in the pot that the focus of the fundraiser turned from getting stuff off the registry to giving a lump sum payment to a charity of Lawrence’s choosing.
That’s a pretty awesome gesture for the future Jaguars quarterback who these fans are hoping will be in Duval County for the next 15 years and bring several winning seasons.
They’ve made a pretty strong impression on the happy couple who won’t have to worry about buying a $300 toaster now that fans got it for them.
Let’s see if other fans follow the lead of Jaguars fans and do a similar Twitter fundraiser to donate to their first round picks charity of choice. This would be an awesome trend to take off and find some good ways to use social media.
