With the Pittsburgh Steelers in need of a quarterback of the future, could the team end up taking signal-caller Kyle Trask in the NFL Draft?
This offseason, the big news for the Pittsburgh Steelers thus far has been the team working a deal and bringing back Ben Roethlisberger. While plenty of folks out there thought he’d end up retiring, Roethlisberger appears ready for one last go in 2021.
With that being said, sooner than later, the Steelers will need a quarterback of the future to take over the offense when Big Ben hangs up his cleats. Could that guy end up being Kyle Trask?
Kyle Trask could prove to be a great pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the NFL Draft
While Trask isn’t high on the boards of teams like the other quarterbacks in the draft, there’s no denying he’s a talented player. In other years, he may be among the top guys selected. According to Steelers insider Ed Bouchette, Pittsburgh is a fan of his and likes his potential.
Trask is coming off a monster 2020, where he threw for 4,283 yards, 43 touchdowns and only eight interceptions. He finished second in the NCAA in yards and first in the country with his 43 scores. It’s no wonder the Steelers like his ability to throw the ball around.
Again, sooner or later the team will need a new guy to run the offense and make plays on the gridiron for them. Trask could spend his rookie season learning under Roethlisberger, who has two Super Bowl wins to his name. Come Thursday night, we’ll find out what the team decides to do with its first-round pick, but Trask could be an intriguing option here for the AFC North powerhouse.
