Ryan Fitzpatrick was all smiles at the Washington Football Team’s minicamp despite getting a cicada stuck in his beard.
Not even the grossest of bugs could bother Ryan Fitzpatrick on day two of minicamp with his new team. In between throwing passes, the veteran quarterback let a cicada catch a ride across the field on his beard.
Warning: the video below might give you the shivers.
Fitzpatrick befriends a cicada at Washington Football Team minicamp
Fitzpatrick, who signed a one-year deal with the Washington Football Team in March, has made fast friends with his new teammates and insects alike.
Many thought the 38-year-old was bound for retirement after finishing his 16th NFL season. Instead, he’s suiting up for Washington now that Alex Smith has decided to hang up his cleats. Fitzpatrick has started games for eight different teams over the years, the most of any NFL quarterback in history. There’s a good chance he’ll add the ninth team to that list in 2021.
Aparently zig-zagging across the continent doesn’t bother Fitzpatrick, and neither do bugs.
