Washington Football Team head coach Ron Rivera has made it quite clear he’s not happy with the players who are choosing not to get vaccinated.
With NFL training camps opening up across the country this week, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to be a major topic of conversation. We’ve already seen several players placed on the Reserve/Covid-19 list, meaning they’re in isolation until they’re cleared.
For Washington Football Team head coach Ron Rivera, he didn’t mince words when asked about guys on his team who are yet to be vaccinated. Matter of fact, Rivera is downright furious with guys taking this decision, especially with the Delta variant causing so many more cases.

As you can see from the tweet above, Rivera is disheartened with what’s going on. Remember, the veteran coach battled cancer and he’s been through so much. Right now, he’s immune deficient. Players not getting vaccinated is one thing, but if they’re going to be around Rivera, they’re also putting him at risk.
It’s easy to understand why Rivera has this reaction. Again, that cancer battle was incredibly taxing on him both emotionally and physically. To make things even worse for him, he’s now got the coronavirus pandemic to worry about, with his team having one of the worst vaccine rates in the NFL.
Earlier this summer, the NFL announced that if games can’t be rescheduled next season, then the team that had the COVID outbreak will have to forfeit games. With Washington being so low with its vaccines, they’re really playing with fire should one of their contests end up getting postponed, and then not rescheduled. If you ask Rivera, though, this is a problem that can easily be avoided.
