Dallas Cowboys training camp has opened, and fans are getting their first good look at a healthy Dak Prescott.
There’s no magic elixir that will wash away the bad taste last season left in the mouths of Dallas Cowboys fans.
Seeing Dak Prescott back on his feet and completing passes at training camp is a pretty nice palette cleanser, though.
Such a thing was finally a reality for Cowboys fans on Tuesday. Dak was back, fully participating in training camp drills less than a year after his devastating ankle injury last season. For many fans, the Dak injury against the Giants was the low point of the season, even though things would continue to sink further into the depths of a hellish year.
On Tuesday, Cowboys fans got the first of what will be many glimpses of Dak Prescott looking like his old self at training camp.
Dak Prescott training camp highlights will make Cowboys fans smile
Get your popcorn or get your tissues — probably both, since this is as beautiful as Cowboys football has looked since arguably 2019.
Dallas rather profoundly missed the playoffs, posting its second-worst record in a decade and doing so in embarrassing fashion. It wasn’t just that the Cowboys lost, which they did a lot of in 2020, it was how they did it. Blown leads, sloppy offensive play, and a Mike Nolan experience that went so poorly that Mike McCarthy had to fire his friend after just a single year in Dallas.
Once Dak was lost, so too was the season. But with him back and healthy, the Cowboys have reason to believe they can regain control of the NFC East in 2021.
