Quarterback Justin Fields is looking to make plenty of noise during his first campaign with the Chicago Bears.
As you might have been able to guess, there’s plenty of attention on rookie first-round pick Justin Fields over at Chicago Bears training camp. The former Ohio State superstar is the quarterback of the future over at Soldier Field, with fans hyped to see what he can do with the ball in his hands.
While Andy Dalton could end up opening the season as the starter, Fields is doing everything possible to make sure he’ll be ready to rock when his number is called this campaign. Fields continues to show maturity beyond his years, which of course has been great to see for head coach Matt Nagy.
Matt Nagy has been impressed with the progress of Justin Fields this offseason
Nagy’s take on Fields has to fire up fans. It’s been years since the team has had a stud quarterback leading the offense out onto the field. Jay Cutler didn’t live up to the hype with Chicago when he was in town, and former first-round pick Mitch Trubisky was the textbook definition of a bust.
Now, after the Bears traded up to take Fields in the 2021 NFL Draft, the dual-threat speedster is ready bring a championship mentality to The Windy City. He’s expected to have to wait his turn a little bit, but he’ll be studying behind veteran Dalton to start things off, should Nagy make that decision.
Should Dalton struggle, though, Nagy may have a quick trigger in sending the man known as ‘Red Rocket’ to the bench in favor of his young quarterback. The future feels like it’s incredibly bright for Fields. Chicago supporters sure can’t wait to see what he can do on Sundays.
