The Justin Fields hype train has officially left the station

The Chicago Bears have their quarterback of the future, and present, in rookie Justin Fields.

With his first preseason game rapidly approaching, it seems as though Justin Fields is already the best quarterback on the Chicago Bears roster.

This is somewhat impressive, as the Bears employ a three-time Pro Bowler in Andy Dalton and a Super Bowl MVP in Nick Foles. Then again, the Bears traded up to No. 11 to take the talented signal-caller from Georgia out of Ohio State last spring. During his two years with the Buckeyes, Fields did things no other Columbus quarterback had ever done before him. He is the real deal.

Don’t be shocked if Fields ends up winning the starting job before the beginning of the season.

Well there’s no doubt the best QB on either field today was Justin Fields. Just completed a nearly perfect red zone period. Only incompletion was a drop by Riley Ridley in the back corner of the end zone on a good ball. All of Fields’ talent was on display. #Bears

Justin Fields was on fire during a deep red zone period vs. the Dolphins. Had three touchdown passes and a nifty out-of-the-pocket scramble that resulted in a rushing TD (should note that QBs are not to be touched in practice).

Justin Fields looks to be running away with the Chicago Bears starting QB job

This is simple. The Bears are never going to win a damn thing again until they have a quarterback they can count on. Fields has every bit the talent to be better than peak Jim McMahon and Jay Cutler was in his prime, approaching the ever-present ghost of Sid Luckman along the shores of Lake Michigan. The sooner the Bears hand Fields over the reins, the better it will be for everyone.

If Fields hits, head coach Matt Nagy will get to keep his job. The same thing applies to general manager Ryan Pace, who got a mulligan for some reason after the botch job we know as the Mitchell Trubisky era in Chicago.

Either way, this is an incredibly exciting time to be a Bears fan. For the first time in most fans’ lifetimes, they have hope emanating from the quarterback position.

Making Fields hold a clipboard during Bears games should be seen as organizational malpractice.
