The Dallas Cowboys received the best update on possible on Neville Gallimore’s injury.
The Dallas Cowboys get the best news possible on the Neville Gallimore injury front.
Gallimore had to exit Friday night’s preseason opener vs. the Arizona Cardinals with an arm injury. According to Ian Rapoport of The NFL Network, Gallimore suffered a dislocated elbow, but one without major structural damage. He will be sidelined for the next four-to-six weeks since he did not tear anything. This is fantastic news for the Cowboys’ defensive front entering the season.
Expect for Gallimore to return to the Cowboys lineup sometime in late September or early October.
Dallas Cowboys receive great news on Neville Gallimore elbow injury
The Cowboys used a third-round pick on the former Oklahoma Sooners standout in the 2020 NFL Draft. Gallimore played in 14 games for the 2020 Cowboys, making nine starts. He recorded 28 combined tackles with four of them going for a loss of yardage. Gallimore is expected to play an integral part in new defensive coordinator Dan Quinn’s defensive line rotation this NFL season.
Overall, Dallas can feel confident about getting Gallimore back into the mix before too long. For the Cowboys to win a very winnable NFC East, they will need to be infinitely better defensively. If the defense can hold its own in Quinn’s first year in Dallas, then the Cowboys may have what it takes to win multiple playoff games. Anything short of a playoff run this season will be disappointing.
Cowboys fans should be thankful no structural damage was done to Gallimore’s elbow on Friday.
