Packers reporter Rob Demovsky trolled Aaron Rodgers over finding a new tight end to love after Jake Kumerow and the QB’s reaction was perfect.
Green Bay Packers tight end Bronson Kaufusi may have just been hit with the curse of Aaron Rodgers. And reporters are giving the quarterback crap for it.
In a hilarious exchange on Wednesday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN teased Rodgers about praising Kaufusi, who is currently sixth on the Packers’ tight end depth chart.
Remember Jake Kumerow? Rodgers’ love didn’t do him any favors.
“I can’t wait to see what Kaufusi does in Buffalo this year,” Demovsky quipped.
Even Rodgers couldn’t help but laugh about that zinger.

If you forgot, Kumerow was cut by the Packers a day after Rodgers spent time singing his praises during a radio interview. According to Ian Rapoport, that release was one of the death knells of Rodgers’ relationship with Green Bay management.
Basically, Kumerow was an example of everything that infuriated Rodgers with the Packers and nearly had him sitting out this season while requesting a trade.
The fun part now is that Kaufusi may not have made the roster anyway. However, if Green Bay cuts him, it’ll look like another situation pitting management against their star quarterback.
Kumerow ended up signing with the Bills practice squad in 2020 and played six games with one target and one catch for a 22-yard touchdown.
Kaufusi played college ball at BYU as a defensive end. The Baltimore Ravens drafted him in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He spent the last three seasons on the New York Jets practice squad, swapping over to offense last year. He signed a reserve/future contract with the Packers early this year as a tight end.
