Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid’s comments about Juan Thornhill is very odd.
After suffering their first loss of the season, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid makes a strange comment about not playing safety Juan Thornhill more.
Reid said that Daniel Sorensen had the better camp over Thornhill. While Sorensen is the more established and savvy veteran player, his ceiling is nowhere near as high as what Thornhill possesses. Given that they just lost a tough game to the Baltimore Ravens, and one where the Chiefs could have used Thornhill more, Reid is clearly letting his BYU show by backing Sorensen.
Nobody is going undefeated this year, but the Chiefs need to get their defense fixed here fast.

While it is way too early to say the rest of the AFC has caught up to the Chiefs, how many people outside of Baltimore thought the Ravens were going to win on Sunday Night Football? With Reid being an offensive-minded coach, he should defer to what Steve Spagnuolo thinks best when running his defense. The Chiefs will win 12 or more games, but the defense has been suspect.
Kansas City has time to turn it around, but the Chiefs need to play the best 11 players on defense.
