The Indianapolis Colts may be without starting quarterback Carson Wentz in their next game.
Carson Wentz may miss the Indianapolis Colts next game as he deals with two sprained ankles. With the team scheduled to travel and play the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, Colts head coach Frank Reich said it’s unclear whether Wentz will be available or not.
Wentz suffered ankle injuries in yesterday’s loss against the Los Angeles Rams. He got up hobbled after being hit and rolled up by Rams star defensive tackle Aaron Donald.
Indianapolis Colts play pivotal game against Tennessee Titans
If Wentz is unable to go against Tennessee, that will be a huge blow to the 0-2 Colts. Still seeking their first win, divisional play is already crucial this early in the season. Dropping to 0-3 and losing head-to-head ground will set Indianapolis up to be fighting an uphill battle for the rest of the season, chasing the division lead.
It does not help that the Titans seemed to have found their stride also. They pulled out a 33-30 overtime win against a good Seattle Seahawks team. That victory game with 182 rushing yards from Derrick Henry, 128 receiving yards from Julio Jones and 347 passing yards from Ryan Tannehill. If the Titans show up like they did yesterday, Indianapolis will have its hands full.
If there is any sign of hope for Colts fans, it’s that the Titans have yet to show they can play defense, giving up 34 points a game. If they are without Wentz, this is the defense for a young quarterback like Jacob Eason to try and build momentum against.
For now, all eyes will be on the health of Wentz.
