The Week 2 edition of the Manning-cast featured plenty of highlights during the Green Bay Packers-Detroit Lions game on Monday night.
The Week 1 edition of Monday Night Football will be hard to top, as the Las Vegas Raiders defeated the Baltimore Ravens in a thrilling overtime game. That game was even better if you happened to watch it on the Manning-cast, featuring legendary quarterbacks Peyton and Eli.
Week 2 featured the Green Bay Packers hosting the rival Detroit Lions. Even though the game became one-sided in the Packers’ favor in the second half, the Manning brothers provided some worth-watching highlights.
3. Rob Gronkowski makes fun of Peyton Manning for hating fullbacks
This is the same segment where Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski admitted to teammate Cameron Brate that he does not watch film. After his dog interrupted the live broadcast, Gronkowski then decided to take a jab at Peyton for hating fullbacks.
2. Peyton’s Patriots jokes
Earlier in the game, Peyton had some jokes at the expense of the New England Patriots. Peyton even went as far to say he would discuss plays with his wide receivers away from his locker whenever the Patriots visited the Colts, because he felt they bugged the facility. The jokes continued when Peyton insinuated that the Packers bugged the Manning brother’s conversation on Friday, where they discussed that they needed to run the ball.
Yeah, the Mannings have jokes.
1. Eli criticizes Peyton’s play-by-play
Early in the game, Peyton decided to give his best Tony Romo impression by predicting what play was going to happen based on the Lions’ offensive formation. The former Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos signal caller predicted that the Lions would call a play action pass. Instead, the Lions ran the ball up the middle.
That is when Eli quipped “nice call, Romo.”
