Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt’s chances of playing on Sunday against Matt LaFleur and the Green Bay Packers just went up.
Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur has been doing the usual stuff to prepare for Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers – watching film, having nightmares. Wait, what? That’s the effect that the Steelers’ defense will have on head coaches in the NFL, especially linebacker T.J. Watt.
LaFleur admitted that he thinks that he’s had nightmares after watching all of Pittsburgh’s sacks from the past two years. Well, now both him and quarterback Aaron Rodgers are going to have nightmares based around Watt’s sacks alone.
Pittsburgh Steelers star T.J. Watt is giving Matt LaFleur more nightmares
During a Week 2 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, Watt left the game early with a groin injury. After sitting out last week in another loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, T.J. was a full participant in the Steelers’ practice on Thursday. The chances of Pittsburgh wrecking havoc against the Packers’ offense just dramatically increased.
Watt, the highest-paid defensive player in the league, will have the chance to sack Rodgers back in his home state of Wisconsin. Rest is crucial to performance, but LaFleur may be suffering from lack of sleep after replaying Watt’s sacks over and over in his head.
T.J. played a crucial role in the Steelers’ upset win in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills after recording two sacks and one forced fumble. Let’s just say that Bills quarterback Josh Allen hopes that he won’t have to see Watt again anytime soon.
Sleep tight, LaFleur. You too, Aaron. T.J.’s coming home.
