It’s been a nightmare of a primetime game for the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football, and a large halftime deficit was soon paired with an untimely Clyde Edwards-Helaire injury.
CEH has struggled with fumble issues so far this season, but the Chiefs running back had shown glimpses the past few weeks. Against the Buffalo Bills, Edwards-Helaire failed to get much going, along with the rest of the Chiefs offense up to that point.
Edwards-Helaire suffered an untimely injury to start the third quarter. After a lengthy halftime due to the lightning delay, CEH was taken to the locker room with an apparent knee injury.
CEH had to be helped off the field with his teammates. He couldn’t put any weight on his leg at the time, making it seem like the injury was far more than just the usual cramp after a long layoff.
Chiefs: Kansas City’s nightmare start to the season continues
Despite picking up a win last week against the Eagles, the Chiefs are far from back. Matched up against the solid Bills team, Kansas City’s defense has been shredded, and the offense led by Patrick Mahomes struggled to get going.
Who is Clyde Edwards-Helaire’s backup?
With Clyde Edwards-Helaire on the bench for the game, expect Darrel Williams to get the majority of the carries in the Chiefs offense.
Fantasy football owners might want to wait for an official update on CEH’s status moving forward before rushing to the keyboard, however.
