Denver Broncos star Von Miller went down with a gruesome-looking ankle injury and had to leave the game against the Browns.
The Broncos found themselves in a 10-0 hole at halftime against the Browns but that wasn’t their only concern going into the break.
With under a minute left in the second quarter, Miller had his foot stuck in the turf while a teammate collided with his leg.
Von Miller injury video is tough to watch
The injury doesn’t look pretty, so watch at your own risk if you’re squeamish.
Miller was able to walk off under his own power, even if it was very slow and hobbled. Ankles aren’t meant to bend that way, so it’s safe to say Miller was feeling that one.
The Broncos listed him as questionable to return for the second half.
The good news is that left the door open for a return, which could mean the injury isn’t immediately serious. The bad news is there was no sign of him once play actually resumed.
Miller is in the final year of his contract with Denver. They drafted him with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft and he’s been with the team ever since. He led them to a Super Bowl victory and has eight Pro Bowls on his résumé.
Needless to say, the Broncos need him in tip-top shape if they want to turn their season around. Since starting the year 3-0, they’ve lost three straight to level out at .500.
In six games so far, Miller has 4.5 sacks, seven tackles for loss and eight QB hits.
