It looks like the Carolina Panthers might be interested in Deshaun Watson as the Houston Texans look to trade their quarterback.
Apparently, the Carolina Panthers might be interested in going out and making a trade with the Houston Texans. Of course, it doesn’t appear as if the Panthers are going after a wide receiver or a kicker or anything of that sort, right now it seems like they want one of the most talented quarterbacks in the NFL: Deshaun Watson.
According to a tweet from The Athletic’s Joe Person, sources have indicated that the Panthers are expected to get involved with trade talks for Watson.
Carolina Panthers reportedly interested in trading with Houston Texans for Deshaun Watson
The Texans have been looking to trade Watson for a while now, but a tricky legal situation has complicated matters for both the quarterback and his team.
22 women have come forward to file civil lawsuits against Watson. According to a report by the New York Times, Watson has been accused twice of sexual assault. Because of that situation off the field, teams have appeared hesitant to trade for the quarterback.
However, there are currently no criminal charges against Watson and his lawyer has very definitively denied the claims made against the quarterback.
With the trade deadline getting gradually closer and closer, it seems likely that Watson will eventually be moved from Houston to another team, though it is far from clear as to where he will end up. With Carolina entering the picture here, the Texans might actually end up finding a way to make a deal happen.
