Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs will honor Pat Tillman with his Sunday Night Football cleats.
During Sunday Night Football, be sure to check out Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs’ cleats, as he will honor the late American hero Pat Tillman with them.
Tillman may have left us back in 2004, but his legacy lives on in the NFL and throughout college football. The former Arizona State standout and Arizona Cardinals star gave up a promising pro career to fight for his country. He lost his life at the age of 27 due to friendly fire over in Afghanistan. Tillman would have celebrated his 45th birthday back on Nov. 6.
Here are the cleats Jacobs will be wearing on Sunday Night Football vs. the Kansas City Chiefs.
Raiders RB Josh Jacobs honors late Pat Tillman
Jacobs may have only been in elementary school in his native Tulsa when Tillman passed, but his legacy on the football field, college and pro, is largely unrivaled. There are several players who have passed away tragically, but Tillman giving all to fight the War on Terror left a long-lasting impression on several generations, whether that be to the Baby Boomers, all the way to Gen-Z.
With the AFC West totally up for grabs, the Raiders need to hold serve at home vs. an inconsistent Chiefs team. Factor in the Denver Broncos and the Los Angeles Chargers both losing in the late-afternoon window, the Raiders can be the only team in the division to come out of Week 10 with a victory. If they are to hand the Chiefs a fifth loss on the season, Jacobs will have to play great ball.
Though the NFL loves to fine players for any number of reasons, let’s hope they let Jacobs honor the life of a late American hero eight days after Tillman’s birthday.
